How to follow me

So you want to follow what I write but don't know how. You have two options, but first, a brief why and how:

  1. I don't send email newsletters, because they're a bad idea and get lost in the mailbox. Did you know sending an email eats up as much energy as keeping it in your inbox for about two years? I also don't have the time to manage a mailing list service.
  2. I post the new stuff I write on my Mastodon profile, among other things. Keep in touch with what I read and interact with there.
  3. I made an RSS feed so you can follow me through an RSS Reader. This way, no mailing list to manage, and more choice to the reader.

Follow me on Mastodon

You can follow my Mastodon profile if you have an account or are planning to make one. I post more than just my own writings there. I share stuff to read, and cool posts from other cool people. So if you only want to read my articles, perhaps this isn't for you.

I will not post my articles on other social media, because of the way they work and the people who own them. Go follow websites independently.

Follow me through RSS

The best way to follow me and countless other websites and blogs is to read me through an RSS Reader. This way, you have full choice over how you consume the content: no one algorithmically decides if you see something, and the notification is not lost. This is the oldschool way that still works purely and simply.

  1. Download an RSS app on your device or use an online service.

For iOS, I have nothing to recommend. For Android, I recommend Feeder or FeedMe. For Linux, RavenReader, Newsflash, or RSSGuard. For Windows, Raven Reader. If you want to have synchronization across your devices, I leave the choice of online service at your discretion. I can only recommend choosing a FreshRSS instance as it's free as in freedom, meaning no one wants to algorithmically change your feed or watch your activity.

  1. Add my blog's RSS Feed by copying this link: Link to my RSS Feed.

The way to do that depends on your app, usually there is a + or Add Feed button somewhere. Congrats, you've added my blog to the things you follow. Every now and then, your app will ask my file (on the link I provided) if there's anything new and will display my articles in your list.
